Derek brings a decade of professional experience working with national and regional nonprofit organizations, specializing in fundraising and development. An expert project manager and team leader, Derek has managed events, led strategic fundraising campaigns, conducted in-depth assessments of development operations, designed board member and volunteer engagement programs, and advised clients on moves management optimization.
With focus on the distinctive needs of each organization, Derek has successfully coached chief development officers and major gifts officers, and managed development teams to reach fundraising targets.
At the Orr Group, he worked with national nonprofits including the Obama Foundation, Elizabeth Dole Foundation, and the Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities. Healthcare clients included the Whitman-Walker Health System, Georgetown University Medical Center, and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
Derek graduated from The George Washington University and lives in Washington, D.C.
